The tasks of a asphalt paving manager or a technical dispatcher in road construction are a challenge. Numerous postponements require frequent adjustments.

The reasons for this are diverse: Bad weather, unfinished preliminary work are just two of many. This would not be as bad if every postponement would need adjustments for the planned machines and convoys.

Construction managers are familiar with the situation from the weekly manager meeting: Because of a bottleneck an operation needs to be postponed, which means many phone calls and following adjustments. Sometimes the postponement produces another bottleneck which again requires postponing.

These manual adjustments and a large part of coordination calls can be omitted with the use of BPO OPERATION and RESOURCE PLANNING. All asphalt operations in a company are depicted in a multi project view. Machines can be assigned to respective operations. Double booking is immediately identifiable and postponing of entire operations was never that easy. Adjustments in the plan are followed by the automatic adaptation of all project documents.

The Foreman can log work and operation times via the phone or tablet PC on site. Interfaces to connect up stream or down stream systems like payroll accounting are individually possible.

The Foreman can restore all data needed to automatically generate the daily report with a smartphone. Performance data and further parameters are delivered via other BPO modules automatically to minimise registration effort.

Mobile Foreman View

Operational plans, created with Excel are sent to the foreman via Email are a thing of the past. All data associated with the project are displayed to the foreman via a mobile app on a smartphone.
Operation data is never lost and always current. With a further step the data from the site can be documented for the daily report. This includes operating period, special incidents and weather data. The information is pooled in a report that can be accessed by the dispatcher in the head office. On top of that it is possible to record work time via the mobile device and provide them for accounting. Dispatching in civil construction was never this easy.
